2020 Project Funding Recipients
BEN DAVIS HIGH SCHOOL
Ben Davis will be adding onto their learning garden to turn it into an outdoor classroom. Expanding their Memorial Garden to honor lost classmates. As well as, building standings beds for the preschool to enable education of healthy eating habits.
BISHOP CHATARD HIGH SCHOOLS
Bishop Chatard is installing water bottle refill stations to eliminate the sale of single use water bottles in the school altogether.
CENTER FOR INQUIRY #84
CFI 84 will be creating a waste reduction program for their cafeteria focused on reducing plastic use, food waste, encouraging recycling and piloting a composting program. They are creating a Garden Day with the addition of beds to further education on healthy eating. As well as expanding on their No Idling campaign to include Red Line usage and relaunching their Bike Club.
Christ the King School
Christ the King will be the first of our schools to use funding to convert the entire school to LED lighting. The program will be used to have the students learn about energy use and collect data, in hope to bring that knowledge to their homes and the parish at large.
CROOKED CREEK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Crooked Creek Elementary will be expanding their learning garden through project learning focused on healthy living.
Francis w. parker Montessori school (New ITSC Cohort)
Francis W. Parker is taking the bold steps of moving towards becoming a zero waste cafeteria.
As well as installing a water bottle refill station to tackle plastic bottle waste reduction.

George Julian will be installing a water bottle refill station in order to reduce single use plastics and offer another option for students during lunch.
herron high school
Water reduction is at the core of Herron High School’s projects. In addition to installing water bottle refill stations, they are looking into ways to reduce water and single use plastic waste at their prom. As well as, procuring tools for their garden.
holy angels catholic school
Holy Angels Catholic School is joining in the water bottle refill station movement. They are also looking to add another chicken coop and a few more chickens to the roster.
International school of Indiana

International School of Indiana will be creating a Sustainability Fair to support the 3 pillars of sustainability- environmental responsibility, social equity and economic development. As well as joined us for our Renewable Energy and Youth Climate Action Days at the Indiana Statehouse.
Longfellow stem medical middle school (New Itsc cohort)
Longfellow will be installing a water bottle refill station to focus on the effects of hydration on concentration.
nora elementary school
Nora will be expanding several of their ongoing projects. These include composting for the Nora Enrichment Garden; repairing and replacing existing garden beds; and the recycling program to include all the lunch periods school wide.
perry meridian high school

Perry Meridian will be expanding their community garden. With the intention of growing food that reflects the cultural diversity of their student population.
riverside high school
Riverside High School will be installing a new water bottle refill station.
school for community learning
School for Community Learning will be exploring permaculture garden practices in an effort to focus sustainability. Public transportation will be used as a means to have the city become a classroom. As well as a school wide focus on plastic pollution in waterways and plastic reduction as a whole.
sense charter school
SENSE Charter School will be expanding their recycling program to include plastics, glass, cardboard and metal. As well as hosting a science night to encourage sustainability- related activities.
shortridge high school

Shortridge will be engaging every student at their Earth Day of Service. Each grade level will have a dedicated service project that will expand past the school and into the community.
TIndley summit academy

Tindley Summit will be breaking ground in the creation of their community based learning garden. This garden will provide students and community the chance to learn about healthy living and hope to create a farmers market to enable fresh food to help the community combat being in a food desert.
victory college prep

Victory College Prep will focus on the development of the Green Team Leadership program to enable peer to peer education of circular economy via the lens of vermicomposting, chicken care, waste reduction and more. They will also be working on student designed irrigation systems to educate about water reduction and rain barrels.
William penn #49

William Penn will be installing a classroom greenhouse with pollinator plants that includes harvesting seeds for future planting. As well as courtyard green-space maintenance for the creation of their own ecosystem and have the space become an outdoor classroom.
